Welcome message byUncle Phillip Omon
COSTLY ASSUMPTION!...Calvary greetings to my dear teenagers. I love u all without reservations. I want u to see life as a pleasant gift frm God, and hence live it to d fullest in Christ. Imagine d mistake we make inadvertently and unwittingly on a daily basis due to COSTLY ASSUMPTIONS! I'll 4dar buttress dis by a short story. Am of d view, dat u'll find it worthwhile. Happy reading.......In a society where it was customary for every graduating student frm d college to be presented with a car key as gift by his/her father, a christian Dad decided to present his 16-year-old son, who just graduated summa cum laude(with highest academic honours), a King James bible as gift. 'wht a worthless gift dad' decried d intelligent, yet unsuspecting young chap. In wht appears to be a wild rage, he threw d bible away in a corner of his room, and headed for an unknown destination, only to return 3yrs after, having learnt dat his dad has gone d way of all flesh(died). 'welcome son' echoed his poor widowed mum, in a sub-sonic voice. Apparently wearing a tearful face, he entered into his ONCE DESERTED room, only to see d bible dad bought as gift on his graduatn frm college. Picking it up, he regreted with HINDSIGHT, why he rejected earlier, fearing his rejection, wld 've been contributory to dad's death. Taking pains for once to flip through d pages of 'd gift', he dabbled into a cheque, issued in his name! D amount in d cheque was worth more dan d price of a car. Beside d cheque was written.' my son, i love u to stupor! U're d best thing to 've ever happened to me. Pls cash dis cheque nd buy urself a car of ur choice. Use d excess to set-up a profit-making venture. God bless u. In overwhelming shock, he fainted! It wasn't my intentn to bore u with long story. I apologize.
